Younger Children’s Story Massage with Mary Atkinson (English)
My name is Mary Atkinson, and I am co-founder of the Story Massage Programme (www.storymassage.co.uk). This is a fully inclusive activity that combines simple massage moves with the words of a story, poem, or song. Peace – What Would Lizzie Do? is an example.
I live in Chichester on the South Coast of England and my video demonstration is in English. My work is sharing the benefits of the Story Massage Programme through an online training course and resources. I also offer hand massage courses on a voluntary basis to help others to relax and enjoy positive touch.
Positive touch is important for people of all ages and abilities. It can help bring calm and peace in a very busy and challenging world. I love to see how it can help others to smile again.
I volunteer with two charities THINK18 (https://www.think18.org.uk) for young adults with learning difficulties and Sanctuary in Chichester (https://sanctuaryinchichester.org) bringing a local welcome to refugees and asylum seekers. I am looking forward to sharing this special massage story with the beneficiaries of these charities.
