Younger Children’s Story Massage with Kefaya Almubarak (Arabic)
My name is Kefaya Almubarak. I am a Psychologist and Children’s Massage Instructor in Bahrain. I have developed a course on the Instagram platform (@Gentletouch.bh) (https://www.instagram.com/gentletouch.bh/) combining the Story Massage Programme with other parenting skills. This has helped mothers to deal with problems such as sleep difficulties and preparing children for upcoming events such as going to the dentist or doctor or welcoming a new baby to the family.
I was so delighted to be invited to become a Pro-Touch Ambassador and share the beautiful Lizzie Ladybird ‘Peace’ massage story in the Arabic world. I filmed the video with my daughter, Zainab, who loves giving and receiving Story Massage. We are both very happy to part of the Pro-Touch global movement.
It is so important to support parents to learn simple ways to share the benefits of positive touch with their children. It can make a real difference to self-confidence and self-esteem. One mother told me that her new parenting skills including gentle touch has helped her become more patient with her son with ADHD, and they communicate more honestly with each other. This feedback shows the importance of the positive touch and connection.
